Look out NRA...

The oldest gal has gotten her first gun safety and shooting lesson. We at the Spohr home think a gun is ALWAYS a weapon and never a toy. We don't have play guns, and water guns are water shooters. So after a few weeks of practice in the responcibility department, she has been upgraded to "Able to shoot a gun" with her other resposibilities.
This is a Crickit, a small single shot .22 rifle. I am very pleased at the size of it. It is a little big for her but we agree that a bit oversized makes it more to respectable. My first experience with a gun was like that, although I am pretty sure it was a much heavier gun or a shotgun, I don't remember. I just know I understood the power of a gun after that.
She did great for her first shot, it was about 5" away from the center at about 10 oclock. The next was about 6" low at 6 oclock.
Maybe she will have an interest in competative shooting, maybe not, but she will hopefully have a healthy respect for a gun.
