For me, heaven...

Or at least a taste of it...
My husband is in the bed taking a nap with a precious boy beside him, chicks are in a makeshift pen enjoying the sun and grass, daughters are planting plants and digging for worms for the chicks. It's a gorgeous Saturday afternoon.
Thank you, Lord.
You have given me many gifts despite my many faults.
God made it for us to enjoy...Times like these...

He's Alive!

My husband let me hear this song for the first time about 10 years ago. I know I cried then and, just now, as I listened anew, I am once again in tears thinking of this past Sunday. If you can, plug in the earbuds and enjoy!

Good Night Easter...

While I am on a rant of quick posts... Here is what I found after a semi scared Jmama came out of her room with an odd lip and chin. What's that? John and I are thinking.

Daddy investigates: Jmama come here sweetheart.... to get a closer look....???? Still puzzled, he pulls her close for a whiff.... Jmama, do you know where the chocolate bunny is?

Jmama: Uuummmm... *smile*

Daddy: *bursts into laughter*

Momma: *stern faced, I had to turn my head, to laugh* Jmama, where is the bunny?

Jmama: *smile*

I looked beside the bed and found the picture above, a faceless chocolate bunny and a peep missing an ear and a leg....
I was too late to get the picture of her face but she had no clue how covered in chocolate she was. Let's just say she looked like she had grown a 5 oclock shadow. Notice the bunny has not been removed from the box.... Nor have the peeps... Because we wouldn't know if it's still in the box, Right?

Good Morning Ma!

I just could not wait for this....
This is the Good Morning Ma! I got this morning. Yes, that is his diaper. Oh yes again, that is his jammies. He has escaped for the first time. And just a few minutes before I found him, I was thinking of putting him in a toddler bed... Umm, I don't think so! You can't see but there is a big smile behind that arm. I think he was proud of his sly moves. Silly Boy!

More Adventures in Chickens...

So here we go again, we got 28 chicks on March 23. Who knew you could have 28 chicks in that little box! We got a call at 5:45am, I couldn't wake the kids for that early, so we waited a while. They are so cute when they are so tiny. 6 will be going to a friend but the others are ours. We have 2 more roosters, but the rest are hens. Each girl got 2 of their own. Smiley got a white rock and black australorp. Jmama got 2 buff rocks. Jmama says they are sisters. John got a red star and a partridge rock. I got 13 barred rocks. I am so excited! We also have the 2 blk aust roosters because they are supposed to be gentle and laid back. Very unlike the rooster we have right now.
So come July or Aug we will have eggs galore! I am going to sell them. I just feel like it's the right thing to do. I need to help my husband in the finance dept. and the Bible is clear that a woman can be in business. I just think it should not be at the top of the responsibility list, that place is saved for family: God, husband, children, extended family... in that order!

Sorry back to chickens *kicking the soapbox*, Now on to week 2..it is amazing how fast they grow. Got a little tail feather growth, and more wing feathers.... Here are the sister chicks, one of Smiley's and one of Jmama's. More to come...
